2012 Health Fair
Last March, Binghamton University held its' 6th consecutive Health Fair in the west gym. This year saw a variety of new events and participation from over 70 different groups. Noteable events included contests for students to gage the amount of calories in various prepared meals, demonstrations of healthy alternatives and tips to making these alternatives fit a college budget, and multiple workshops on stress relief from creating your own stress balls to free massages from local masseurs! Throughout the day, students put on free exercise workshops and discussed the benefits of their particular workout techniques and strategies.
The event was a huge success and over 1,000 people were in attendance.
This year featured an appearance from David Romanelli (photographed below alongside Alexa Schmidt), the author, yoga instructor and spiritual speaker whose philosophy inspired the spring 2012 NourishU campaign - "Beautiful Funny and Delicious." Dave spoke at the Health Fair about his philosophy and provided a free yoga and chocolate demonstration after the fair had ended. He also held a book signing for his new work "Livin' in the Moment."
